. ENITIAA is a public institute of higher education and research affiliated to the French Ministry of Agriculture.
. ENITIAA is a national Graduate Institute which trains executives for the following fields : food industries, agribusiness, biotechnologies, chemical industry, environment, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, business services, logistics …
. ENITIAA is located in Nantes next to :
- INRA (National Institute of Agronomic Research),
- The Chamber of Agriculture,
- A group of start-up companies and research laboratories directly linked
with the food industry
. ENITIAA was created in 1974, in Nantes which is the 6th largest city
in France. Nantes is located in the 3rd largest region for food industry
such as : meat, milk and dairy products, preserves, frozen food, sugar,
soft drinks …
Food industry represents in the west of France (Pays de la Loire) :
- 900 companies
- 83 000 employes
- 40% of national turn over for milk industries
- 35% of national turn over for meat industries
. Food industry is the leading industry in France
. ENITIAA represents
- 500 students
- 50 teachers and 80 administrative staff and technicians.
DIPLOMAS
ENITIAA trains students from “Bac+2” (undergraduate) to PhD (Bac+8).
| Undergraduate (Bac+2) : | “BTS IAA” (2 years training program) : |
| Undergraduate (Bac+3) : | . Quality control and R & D training program,
in food industry : . Management of food ressources with 2 options : - freezing installations - supply chain in catering. |
| Bac + 5 (post graduate) : | General diploma in engineering related to food industry. It is a 3 year program with 100 graduates/year. |
| Masters programs in : | - Quality management in food industry - Chemical and biological risks management - Process engineering (applied to food products and environment) - Biotechnologies and bioprocesses - Food Science and human nutrition. |
| Ph.D: | - Students enroled in Ph.D degrees at the ENITIAA
laboratories are duly enroled at the University of Nantes and at foreign
Universities. The laboratories of ENITIAA are also linked to the University
of Nantes : - Doctoral program of sciences for engineer - Doctoral program of law and social sciences - Doctoral program of chemistry – biology - Doctoral program of mathematics. |

. Continuing Proficiency Training
ENITIAA designs specialized food science training sessions for executives
and technical personnel :
- Food safety and regulations
- Quality standards
- Statistics
- Processes and equipment.
. Diplomas by continuing training
ENITIAA also offers continuing education courses :
- Quality research and development manager of food business (one year)
Program, level II diploma
- Professional degree courses (one year) in the following fields :
. Quality control and R and D
. Management of food ressources with 2 options : freezing installations
and supply chain in catering
- Ratification of profesional experiences (legal arrangement for adults).

ENITIAA offers different services :
. a food process engineering and hygiene hall with more than 50 modular
pilots (2 000 m2). The hall is a tool used not only by students but also
by our industrial partners.
. consulting services/research agreements
. a continuing education program
. a strong partnership with CTCPA (Centre Technique de la Conservation
des Produits Agricoles)
. a specialized library.
International relations are one of ENITIAA’s prorities :

. Student mobility for training and placement
- Socrates European program : agreements for academic exchanges in most
european countries
. Projects with the European Tempus program with south East and East Europe
(Croatia, Serbia, Georgia, Azerbaijan …), North Africa
